In 2022, Ross showed up in Ketchum for a five-day ski trip, which turned into two weeks, which turned into never leaving. After 28 years in Austin, Texas, he and his wife became full-time “locals”and in love with the Wood River Valley. Ross has always been a speed nut. In 2013, he scratched his speed itch by joining the Ferrari Challenge race series. After two seasons, a few podiums, and crossing the start-finish line at Daytona International Speedway at 190mph, he hung it up. Reimagining his car passion as classic cars and rural Idaho mountain road trips, Ross is the proud owner of a 1967 Lamborghini Miura and the original owner of a 2006 Ford GT.
Living full-time in Ketchum is possible thanks to the great local car culture, and Sun Valley Tour de Force. He ran the GT in the 2023 SVTdF, but kept it at a slow 178.34 mph. His favorite summer activity is to take either the Miura or the Ford GT over Galena Pass to Stanley for a cup of coffee and then drive straight home. It’s just like the original Italian Job movie opening scene, Idaho style.
